PQ: SPAN 20202 or consent of instructor (based on evaluation). This course teaches students how to use written and spoken language to debate and to formulate cogent arguments. We analyze particular topics related to the Spanish-speaking world and participate within an academic forum. Challenging grammatical structures and orthographic conventions are reviewed and practiced in a variety of papers and class discussions. Students are exposed to a variety of texts and audio-visual material that exemplifies the different cultures and dialects of the Spanish-speaking world. Spring.
