While foreigners assume that the Caribbean is exotic, this course explores this assumption from a Caribbean perspective. We examine the links between Caribbean and Old World imagination, the relationship between exoticism and Caribbean notions of superstition, and the way in which the Caribbean fictional universe derives from a variety of cultural myths.
