This course provides students with an opportunity to analyze their study and test-taking skills in mathematics as incoming students and develop new strategies to improve their performance as college mathematics students. It emphasizes using the calculator as an important tool in the students _ introduction to the study of college algebra. The following topics from precollege mathematics are reviewed: (1) algebraic expressions involving exponents and radicals, (2) polynomials, (3) solving equations, and (4) building mathematical models to solve problems. The course meets for three weekly class sessions; no academic credit is earned.
