PQ: ECON 20900, ECON 21000, ECON 26500, or ENST 26500. This course applies theoretical and empirical economic tools to a number of environmental issues. We discuss broad concepts that include externalities, public goods, property rights, market failure, and benefit-cost analysis. These concepts are applied to a number of areas that include nonrenewable resources, air and water pollution, solid waste management, and hazardous substances.
