PQ: MATH 10600, or placement into 13100 or equivalent; or consent of departmental counselor. CMSC 10500 and 10600 may be taken in sequence or individually. This course meets the general education requirement in the mathematical sciences. This course is an introduction to computer programming using the object-oriented programming language C++. We emphasize design and algorithm construction. Topics include complex types, iteration, recursion, procedural/functional/data abstraction, classes, methods, inheritance, and polymorphism. S.
