1st Semester. Lect. 1, Lab 2, 2 credits. This course provides participants with a basic understanding of veterinary acupuncture knowledge and skills. Emphasis is placed on the theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). TCM pathology and diagnosis, canine and equine acupuncture points and channels, and acupuncture techniques, therapies and analgesia. Participants interact with the instructor in the practice of acupuncture diagnosis and treatment. Prerequisite: Fourth year veterinary student status.
