2nd Semester. Lect. and Disc. 3, 3 credits. An examination of the origins and course of the Cold War from its post-World War II roots to its end with the collapse of the Soviet Union. Special attention will be given to post-World War II conferences and confrontations, superpower relations and international crises, nuclear diplomacy, the Cold War's impact on the Third World, and the consequences of the Cold War's end. Prerequisite: ENGL 102.
