1st Semester. Lect. 3, 3 credits. This course, the first of a threecourse sequence, covers statics, mechanics and strengths of materials. An overview of structural systems is provided including framed and truss systems, shell and plate systems and funicular systems. The course content is presented in a context of sustainable design and in such a way as to be directly applied in the congruent ARCH 0301 design studio. Prerequisite: ARCH Professional Program admittance (ARCH students only), MATH 0108 and PHYS 0306.
