1st Semester. Lab 12, 6 credits. This course introduces students to social issues in the built environment. Service learning projects will be included in which students perform design services for actual non-profit organizations. An emphasis will be placed on critical approaches to community revitalization which sustain diversity and place. Studio coursework will be coordinated with readings from the congruent Theory of Architecture course. Students will engage in collaborative design. Prerequisite: ARCH 0302.
