2nd Semester. Lect. 3, 3 credits. Fundamental principles of biochemistry (protein structure and function, conformational change, kinetics, thermodynamics, equilibrium, etc.) are covered. Cell biology topics will include plasma membrane and membrane proteins, cell-signaling cascades, regulation of gene transcription and translation, regulation of the cell cycle, cancer and oncogenes, nerve transmission, and immune response. Also listed as CHEM 360. Prerequisite: BIOL 250; CHEM 231 and 232. Corequisite: CHEM 320.
