A selective study of the crucial events of the twentieth century aimed at finding appropriate lessons for people who will live in the twenty-first century. Topics include: importance of incorporating technological advances into military doctrine, how "blitzkrieg" offensives work and how to defeat them, and advances in aerial and undersea warfare from 1939 to the present day. Interprets World War II as what military planners now call a "Revolution in Military Affairs," shows how that RMA still governs strategy and tactics today, and how the next RMA is already visible on the horizon.
