The definition and measurement of economic inequality and poverty and the investigation of economic factors determining the distribution of income and wealth. On the macro level, the course examines the dynamics of input markets, including productivity and technological change. The micro level focuses on the personal distribution of income and poverty in the United States. Alternative theories are examined.
