Loom weaving with emphasis on weave structures, color, and texture studies. Students will work with 2- and 3-dimensional application of their completed woven textiles. Possible areas of study include: tapestry, ikat, warp painting, and clothing. Additional studies are possible in single-element structures, such as knitting, netting, and knotting. Readings in textile history and contemporary art issues, writing, and discussion will complement technical grounding in traditional textile processes. Prerequisite: 131 or 132 or 134. Lab fee: $55 M.
