An introduction to field methods employed by cultural anthropologists in their collection of primary data. Students will conduct field projects in local community settings. These projects call for pure observation, mapping, formal and informal interviewing, participant observation, and photo elicitation. Students will gain experience in formulating research problems, developing a protocol, as well as organizing and communicating findings.
