Exploration of literary works (prose fiction and drama) and films that are connected thematically. Current offerings include "Literature of the Family" that exploresrelationships between family members and "The Cross-Cultural Experience" thatpresents works in which the protagonist interacts with people of another race or culture, resulting in situations that produce cultural misunderstandings and a variety of conflicts. Prereq: MPEN 102 with grade of C- or better. (Formerly MCEN 209)
