Introduction to the human resources professional's role in the laws and regulations affecting injured and absent employees. Focus on the states' various approaches to workers' compensation (i.e., medical benefits and limited compensation), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Also covered: various other aspects of state and federal law the human resources professional will need knowledge of to administer to injured and absent employees.
