Introduction to the principles of early learning in preschool, kindergarten, and primary grades for the prospective teacher. Emphasis on development of an integrated curriculum in content areas, assessment, classroom management, teaching to divergent cultures, and inclusion of students with special needs. Class members are expected to apply knowledge of theses principles of early learning as they analyze case studies and develop lesson plans. Students are also required to create an integrated, thematic unit and teach lesson plans they have written and evaluated. Co-req: EDUC 316.
