(formerly SWK 253) This practicum provides an opportunity to work in a social service agency under M.S.W. supervision to acquire skills in social work practice and to test in a field setting the principles and theories learned in the classroom. Students spend a minimum of fourteen hours per week in an agency; a 420 hour field experience is required for all Social Work majors. The field experience is supplemented by a weekly seminar. Field assignments are scheduled to include Fall, Intersession and Spring for all enrollees. Evening students are required to spend four day hours per week in the agency. Prerequisite: SWK 351.
