(also GRN 262) Who dies, when, where, how and why: a critical analysis of the social forces and interactions that influence life expectancy, causes of death, the dying process and attitudes and beliefs about death and after-life. Disposal and bereavement rituals are studied across cultures, and terrorism, genocide, military action and capital punishment are examined for their impact on social stability and individual mortality.
