This Level I course introduces the concepts of health and age-specific nursing assessment of health. The focus is on promotion of optimal function of individuals across the life span. The concept of health is presented within the context of human growth and development, culture, and family utilizing the nursing practice. Strategies for health promotion, interventions, and anticipatory guidance are addressed for each developmental level in conjunction with the role of the professional nurse. Prerequisites: BIO 120, PSY 111, CHE 112. Corequisites: BIO 121, 245; SOC 101/166. Pre- or Corequisites: NUR 129. (Offered Fall, Spring) Fee-$30.00. 3 credits
