An advanced and technical approach to stage lighting and the aesthetics of scenic lighting as a visual art. A study of the skills of hanging, alignment, focusing, maintenance and operation of various types of stage lighting fixtures. The analysis of a script for lighting and the development of a workable design concept. Students will generate light plots and associated paperwork for a production. Students will be required to work as lighting technicians at one of the college's venues. 3 credits
