Explores the emergence of Afro-Caribbean religions such as Vodun, Candomble, Macumba, and Santeria from the intersection of West African and Catholic cosmologies. A critical assessment of the cosmologies, rituals, and theologies of these Afro-Caribbean religions, as well as their implications for enhancing the academic study of religion, form the focus of the course.
