This course examines Francophone culture from the Caribbean, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Maghreb as well as Vietnam. Through literary texts, films, poems and songs we will discuss topics such as colonialism, post colonialism, gender, religion and cultural issues as well as the concept of identity of the colonized and the colonizer. All readings and discussions in French. (Cr. 3)
