The developmentally appropriate, integrated curriculum for grades 1-3 is examined. This includes the content areas of language arts, social studies, science, mathematics, art and music. The course focuses on methods and materials; appropriate practices; strategies for dealing with children with special needs; techniques for assessing teaching and learning effectiveness; and the use of technology and computers to enhance learning and instruction. 30 hours in a 1-3 classroom is required. Fall Semester. Prerequisite: EDUC 318 ( Corequisite for transfer students). (Cr. 3) Open only to students matriculated in this school.
