Applications of navigation rules with emphasis on the analysis of selected cases and court interpretations. Emphasis on the safety implications of marine casualties as well as casualty management as it relates to applicable federal rules and regulations. This course supports the marine license program requirements to meet the Standards for Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW). The course may have embedded assessment requirements that must be completed in addition to the class requirements. Prerequisite: Ns-262. Rec. 3, Cr. 3.
