This two day course is designed to provide military, first responder and law enforcement personnel with an understanding of enhancements to security in the maritime arena and the unique circumstances and operational conditions that prevail therein. Those who successfully complete the course should better be able to undertake their duties and responsibilities in the port, maritime and intermodal context. Direct observation of Academy waterfront security procedures will enhance classroom lectures. Students who successfully complete the course will receive the relevant USCG approved course certificate. Prerequisite: permission of the instructor. Rec. 0.5, Cr. 0.5.
