A study of measurement and adjustment techniques, and of control systems on modern main and auxiliary steam turbines. Includes lubrication systems, main propulsion shafting and propellers, and maintenance and emergency repairs of main propulsion turbines. The operation and maintenance of all types of marine boilers and their associated equipment along with U.S. Coast Guard operating regulations are covered. This course supports the marine license program requirements to meet the Standards for Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW). The course may have embedded assessment requirements that must be completed in addition to the class requirements. Prerequisites: Eg-265 or Eg-261, Eg-321. Rec. 3, Cr. 3.
