Davis Content: Viewing of selected live dance performances in the Portland area. An exploration of the intellectual, historical, and social contexts of these performances. Development of a vocabulary for dance criticism and an understanding of the essential elements of dance choreography and performance. Readings; analysis of videotaped, filmed, and live dance performances; seminar discussion. Prerequisite: Fee (performance tickets). Taught: Alternate years, 4 semester credits.
