Waldmann Content: Continuing exploration of the complex relationship between tea tradition and other Japanese cultural arts. More complex procedures for handling utensils and preparing tea. How meaning is expressed through gestures and movements. More advanced critical examination of the art, including study of different modes of tea gatherings. Prerequisite: East Asian Studies 156 or consent of instructor. Taught: Annually, 1 semester credit.
