Odell Content: Key movements and artists in China and the Chinese diaspora from the 19th century through today. Exploration of "Chinese" cultural identity as expressed in global economies of art production and performance. Consideration of painting, prints, calligraphy, photography, and sculpture, as well as mixed-media installations, performance art, video, and Web-based art. Prerequisite: None.
