In this interdisciplinary survey course, students are introduced to the socio-political history and culture of black peoples around the world and the concept of "blackness." The courseis team taught and divided up into units that cover interrelated components: history, humanities, and social sciences. The course is divided into seven units, beginning with a history of the field of Black Studies.
