This is a capstone music technology course for the Contemporary, Urban and Popular music degree. It is a project-based course for the purpose of learning to create professional quality demo recordings of the student's own bands, compositions and performances. The Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) environment is presented as a primary tool in song composition and arrangement, using virtual instruments and loops as audio recording and processing. The student will apply knowledge from the previous technology course sequence to produce professional quality recordings of their advanced creative work, such as senior band projects and recitals, and/or collaborations among members of the CUP ensembles and songwriting classes. 2 CREDITS PREREQUISITES: INSTRUCTOR APPROVAL CONCURRENT: PRIMARY PRIVATE LESSONS
