Class teaches guitarists working knowledge of chords, intervals, and standard chord progressions. Students learn how chords look and sound and how they relate to one another. Topics include chord constitution, the transfer process, modern extended chords, chord substitutions, chromatic alternation, chord symbols and symbol duplication, and polytonality/ composite harmonic structures. 3 CREDITS PREREQUISITES: 32-2111 SIGHTSINGING, MUSICIANSHIP, AND EAR TRAINING II, 32-2121 THEORY, HARMONY, AND ANALYSIS II
