Students study the fundamental principles, practices, and vocabulary common to modern dance and ballet technique. Emphasis will be on developing the strength, flexibility, endurance, coordination, and alignment necessary for succeeding in technique classes. Students will also learn dance etiquette and rhythmic and performance skills, and will explore life-style issues affecting dance training. Class begins with warm-up exercises and progresses to rhythmic movement patterns that travel through space. 2 CREDITS
