This course provides students with an overview of management issues in visual arts museums and galleries, including exhibition planning, development and interpretation, environmental and technical concerns in exhibition and collections management, artist relations, and public and educational outreach. The course will include hands-on experience, field trips, lecture and research activities, guest speakers, and discussion of current issues in cultural production and presentation. The course will culminate in a class-designed exhibition. 3 CREDITS PREREQUISITES: 22-1101 HISTORY OF ART I: STONE AGE TO GOTHIC, 22-1102 HISTORY OF ART II: RENAISSANCE TO MODERN, 52-1152 WRITING AND RHETORIC II
