This class aims at introducing future instrumentalists, singers, composers, and music directors to the fundamentals of music management, giving them an overview of the skills and resources needed in order to successfully manage a music career. Many musicians craft successful careers through engaging in a portfolio of activities in varying modalities of the music economy. This class will provide students with an understanding of the matrix of activities, promotional vehicles and revenue streams in the music industry, as well as fundamentals of career development and business acumen. This course will be a required course for all music students enrolled in the CUP program. 3 CREDITS
