This class will introduce students to the tools, techniques, and terminology of traditional hand bookbinding. Students will build a variety of blank book structures, and leave with a thorough knowledge of sound bookbinding construction methods. The historical uses of each structure will be discussed, as well as some of the contemporary applications and adaptations used in making Artists' Books and in contemporary design practices. 3 CREDITS
