Credits: 4 Prerequisite: HIT145 This course is designed to be a comprehensive overview of healthcare reimbursement. The student will apply billing and reimbursement procedures specific to a variety of payer sources, relate the effect of coding on reimbursement, and study the financial implications of reimbursement on the healthcare organization. Reimbursement methods and procedures for inpatient and outpatient facilities will be addressed.
