The course provides content knowledge, and practical experiences for students interested in learning how to assess present levels of physical fitness, and to design and provide instruction in appropriate weight training programs for healthy adults and those with special needs. The course helps students acquire knowledge and develop skills for participation in advanced strength development, through progressive resistance exercise programs, for the purpose of improving strength and power while also enhancing self-image and sport performance. This course meets the standards of Advanced Weight Training through the American Council on Exercise (ACE). Prerequisites: PED 200, 204, 221X
