A functional group approach to organic chemistry with an emphasis on alkenes, alkynes, aromatic compounds, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids, and amines. The laboratory covers the techniques for preparing and purifying organic compounds. Three lectures and one three-hour laboratory.
