Designed for students continuing study in Spanish language and literature, will focus on speaking, listening comprehension, reading, and writing skills in the target language through a wide variety of large-group, small-group, and individual activities. Special attention will be devoted to discussion and analysis of short Hispanic literary pieces, culminating in the opportunity to learn how to write an organized, thoughtful literary essay about one of the reading selections. Strongly recommended by the department as part of a related field for students whose major is in the humanities and who plan to pursue graduate work. Satisfies international exploratory requirement. Prerequisite: a grade of 'C-' or better in SPA 210 or equivalent . Spring.
