This course is a survey of Western music from the Medieval period to ca. 1750. The course will offer opportunities to become involved with music from a historical perspective. We will examine many works representing various genres and stylistic periods. You will be given the opportunity to develop skills in listening, analysis, and in stylistic differentiation. Satisfies fine arts exploratory requirement. Prerequisite: MUS 110 or consent of instructor. Fall, even academic years.
