This course is a survey of Western music from the Classical period to ca. 1900. The course will offer opportunities to become involved with music from a historical perspective. We will examine many works representing various genres and stylistic periods. You will be given the opportunity to develop skills in listening, analysis, and in stylistic differentiation. Prerequisite: MUS 110 or consent of instructor. Spring, even academic years.
