Students must show proficiency in spelling, grammar, and Associated Press style before they may enroll in advanced courses required for the journalism major or minor. Students must take this proficiency test initially at the end of the semester in which they are enrolled in JOU 121, and must score at least 75 percent to continue with the journalism curriculum. Must be taken concurrently with JOU 121. Graded on a pass/fail basis. Fall and Spring.
