This course functions to establish and develop basic conducting skills with an emphasis on simple metrical patterns, fundamental conducting technique, non-verbal communication, and the basics of score study. This course will integrate components of music theory, history and performance in such a way that each student will gain the skills that are appropriate to prepare and conduct rehearsals and performances. Prerequisites: Grade of C- or better in MUS 110 and 111. Spring, odd academic years.
