An introduction to painting techniques and media. Emphasis on the use of paint in the creation of naturalistic images of form and space. The beginner will start with a limited palette in a series of sequential small scale exercises. Studio classes supplemented with lectures, demonstrations, group critiques, and individualized instruction. Subject matter is primarily still life format. Fee: $15 nonrefundable. Satisfies fine arts exploratory requirement. Fall and spring.
