(Fall) 3 hrs. A study of the organization, curriculum and instructional patterns in the middle grades, with emphasis on the growth and development of early adolescence. Emphasis is on varying patterns of curriculum organization and activities, school organization patterns, teachers' roles, instructional delivery systems including differentiated instruction, daily programs, courses of study, records, and evaluation of students. The ability to write instructional objectives and lesson plans is developed. To be taken concurrently with EM 300P. PY 220 is a prerequisite or co requisite. Prerequisites: ED 101 and ED 200.
