Group 2,1 course The decade of the 1960s was a tumultuous and often bewildering period in recent United States history. The course assesses the presidencies of Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon. Causes and manifestations of social, political and cultural change are examined. The Civil Rights, Black Power, NewLeft, Anti-War and Women's Liberation movements are studied, as well as the war in Southeast Asia.
