Four major compositions from as many historical periods. Works include a broad array of the period's styles and at the same time reflect the composer's ability to transcend conventions. Both vocal and instrumental genres are represented, including such examples as Bach's Cantata No. 21, Mozart's Marriage of Figaro, Beethoven's String Quartet Op. 59, No. 1, andStravinsky's Symphony in Three Movements.
