Teaching and learning in elementary schools will be examined in areas of curriculum, instruction, assessment and social justice. This course allows students to put into practice the department's conceptual framework of teaching for social justice. Students will observe and student-teach in the classroom for eleven weeks and take part in a biweekly seminar class. Offered both semesters. Education 449E Elementary School Certification Prerequisite: Education 223, 304, 313 and 341; Human Development 111, 225. Education 449 must be taken parallel with Education 445.
